Secure Mobile

While telecommuting enables users to be more productive, you cannot control the passwords and user IDs that leave the building. Are they being written down on a note pad at home? Are the keystrokes on a home computer being logged by spyware that a user has unknowingly installed? If an employee uses their laptop at home, it is more at risk of being stolen.

Every laptop an employee takes on a business trip is a potential security risk. Laptops can be stolen, leaving sensitive data to the mercy of thieves. Encrypting all the hard drives in the office might help, but it would be an expensive, time consuming solution that does not guarantee that a computer won't get stolen anyway, at the cost of replacement.

Also, when an employee remotely logs in, via a terminal at a cyber cafe, a Kinko's or an airport public terminal, their user data can be easily seen and can remain on the machine in key logs

Lastly, if a disaster should occur (such as a power outage, network failure, virus, etc.) how can you ensure that your users carry their recovery protocols with them in a form that is both usable and secure?

For these reasons, and more, companies are finding it increasingly difficult to know that their sensitive data remains secure in the mobile world. What is needed is a tool that ensures that:

  • Mobile users can stay mobile, logged in and productive.
  • The data they need to continue working stays secure, through encryption.
  • You have the peace of mind that comes with knowing that that data will be destroyed if lost or stolen.
